How we help

Who we support

Our Junior Church held a copper weigh in – we collected the same weight of coppers as the weight of one of our children!
Collecting food, toiletries and treats for the FAITH (Feed All In Thy Hand) project in Reading as they work with homeless people.
A HUG (Helping Unite Generations) quiz organised by junior church recently raised £160 – and was great fun

We encourage people to give animals to African families in lieu of Christmas presents for those in our own families who already have everything they need.

Serendipity assemble a huge number of gift boxes for ‘Operation Christmas Child’ each year.

We support the FAITH (Feed All In Thy Hand) Project in Reading as they meet the practical needs of homeless people. We collect gifts of non-perishable foods, toiletries, treats etc and also fund a part of FAITHS’ new admin assistants’ salary.

Through the COMPASSION PROJECT we sponsor two children –a boy in Bolivia, and a girl in Thailand. Encouraged by the efforts of our Junior Church we raise the sponsorship money and send letters and small gifts.

We learned about WATER AID and wrote to our MPs’ seeking improvements in the Aid Budget to help meet targets for clean water and sanitation. We also collect old mobile phones for Water Aid.

We support MHA, Leprosy Mission, Network, NCH, Home Missions, Help the Aged, Whitechapel Mission and Christian Aid with various efforts including street collections, sponsored walks, marmalade sales, cake stalls etc.

We design and produce a Church Christmas card which raises money for a different charity each year e.g. Thames Valley Hospice

Our Ladies group, Serendipity, hold an annual ‘Carols and Coffee’ evening in Church to support one of our charities.
We helped buy a minibus for use by Pastor Elijah and his church in Nkuru, Kenya as they work to provide education and support in the fight against AIDS.
